Iced In is a scrap- or yardage-friendly quilt in two sizes, 52" square or 76" square. The diagonal blocks can be set in almost infinite ways to create secondary patterns galore! Once you master the block, you just might come up with your own layouts, though two are given in the pattern. From simple cutting of squares and triangles, the blocks go together easily, assisted by the numerous full color diagrams. If you can sew a four patch and a half square triangle, you are golden. I'm a sucker for the drama of black and white with a color family, but this quilt begs for you to use your imagination in fabric choices. Try some focus fabrics in the star centers! Flip the darks and lights! Chunk up the four patches with another color family rather than white! So many options ensure you'll want to use this pattern more than once.
