The Carpenter's Apprentice Sewalong - Learn to use my Accordion Sewn HSTs method!
If you haven't seen my videos on YouTube using this cool method of making scrappy HSTs, check them out! (Start with Part 1 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dc3ClOPu4_w, and then also watch Parts 2 and 3.) It's incredibly fun and addicting, but it doesn't just make cool little accordions; once you cut them apart, your quilts are halfway done! This sew along will take the Accordion Sewn HST technique and up the ante just a bit to show how it can be used to sew all the HSTs needed for The Carpenter's Apprentice pattern by EvaPaige Quilt Designs, keeping it all scrappy and with no waste!
Each week for four weeks, beginning October 20, you will receive a step of the instructions via pdf. They will take you all the way from picking out fabrics to organization to the accordioning process to cutting them apart and keeping them organized to laying them out quickly into the star and sewing it together, as well as some thoughts on quilting. In addition, all purchasers will receive access to the closed facebook group "The Carpenter's Apprentice Sewalong," where I will be available to answer questions and will post live videos which will help with any clarifications needed as we create this cool exploding star. Members will also be able to share progress and fabrics and what is better? Not much.
After the official timeframe of the Sew Along, the directions will remain available for purchase and customers will still be able to gain access to the closed group.
